Luis López-Durán Viani

Luis López-Durán Viani is the Procurement Manager at Verdian. With a solid academic background and over 10 years of international experience, he has led procurement and contracting strategies across key sectors including solar PV, onshore wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

With an Executive Master in International Procurement from IQS School of Management and a degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio , he has held strategic roles in leading renewable energy companies. Before joining Verdian, he was Procurement Manager at Renewable Power Capital, where he established the procurement function from the ground up and managed EPC contracts for large-scale European projects, such as the 554MW High Coast wind project in Sweden.

His career also includes a significant tenure at Nordex Acciona Windpower as Procurement Manager for Balance of Plant (BoP), overseeing operations across Europe, Africa, Southeast Asia, and Oceania, and managing contracts averaging over €40 million. Previously, he worked with Scottish Power and Iberdrola in the UK, specialising in tender evaluations and cost engineering for energy infrastructure.

His strategic vision and leadership in supply chain management have been instrumental in ensuring the bankability and operational efficiency of complex renewable projects. He combines technical engineering rigour with advanced negotiation skills and international supplier relationship management.
