Alfonso Ortal is the CEO of Verdian. With a strong academic background and experience in renowned companies, he has driven the growth and transformation of various organisations in the renewable energy and energy transition sectors.

With an MBA from Harvard Business School and engineering studies at Cranfield University and the University of Seville, he has held key positions in leading companies. Before Verdian, Alfonso held different leadership positions at Galp, the most notable being his period as CEO of Galp Solar, where he fostered the company's growth, multiplied its revenues, and consolidated its presence in Portugal and Spain, making a significant contribution to the reduction of CO₂ emissions of its client base.

His career also includes his work at Bain & Company, in its New York and Toronto offices, where he advised companies on digital transformation, private equity, and growth strategies, as well as his time at Tesla, where he identified market opportunities for its energy storage division. He has also held strategic roles at E.ON, where he focused on renewable energy, energy trading, business development and growth in international markets. Alfonso has also held a number of board member positions, such as his role at the advisory committee of Energy Impact Partners, a global investment platform.

His innovative vision and leadership have been recognised with awards such as the Nova 111 List Spain, distinguishing him as one of Spain's leading professionals in Energy and Engineering.
